Youth

At the Y, we know that a successful development process fulfills childrens' innate need to be loved, spiritually grounded, educated, competent, and healthy.

Children are like sponges – they watch and absorb knowledge, skills and values from everything and everyone around them. At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why our child care, afterschool and Child Watch programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical, emotional and social development of children, the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things, and the caring and reinforcement families need to help each other.

At the Y, babies develop trust and security, preschoolers experience early literacy and learn about their world, and school-age children make friends, learn new skills and receive homework support. Most importantly, children learn how to be their best selves. That makes for confident children today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.

SCHOOL AGE

Kindergarten to Middle School*

Before and After School Child Care

Y School Age Child Care develops the whole child, including character development. Children participating in the School Age Program will take part in a variety of activities including homework support, art, science & technology and physical play.

PRESCHOOL

Ages 3 to 5 Years*

Getting Ready for Kindergarten

Preschool not only provides important skills that benefit the transition to kindergarten, but gives your child a foundation for reading and math success in elementary school.  And the benefits of preschool continue as your child grows! In fact, a child who attends preschool is more likely to finish high school and attend college than children who did not attend preschool!

PRE-K COUNTS

Ages 3 and 4 years

FREE Preschool for Qualifying Families

Pre-K Counts builds the foundation of learning and gives children the skills needed to succeed in school and in life. This quality pre-kindergarten program is provided at no cost to families with children ages 3 and 4 who meet the income eligibility requirements.

EARLY EDUCATION

Ages 6 weeks to 5 Years*

Full and Part Time Child Care

High quality early learning environments have a direct impact on your child's ability to prosper and develop to their fullest potential. Children who participate in quality learning programs tend to be more successful in school, are more competent socially and emotionally, and show higher verbal and intellectual development.

YOUTH SUMMER DAY CAMP

Ages 5 to 13 Years*

Camp, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities. Camp teaches self-reliance, a love for nature and the outdoors, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character and leadership all amidst the fun of team building, swimming, talent shows, and meaningful relationships. Y counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper
