School Age Care
Supported by an understanding of children's learning styles, interests, and PA Early Learning Standards, our curriculum is designed to provide activities that enhance cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Therefore, contributing to a child's success in school and throughout life. The curriculum follows Creative Curriculum and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) supporting growth and development of youth in seven key learning areas: Literacy, Science, Math/Problem Solving, Arts, Social Competence, Fitness/Nutrition, and Technology. This curriculum supports a unique learning environment that stimulates a child's curiosity while reinforcing essential academic standards.
Ys are the nation's largest not-for-profit community service organization providing child care - for millions of children each year. School Age Child Care provides options to meet a family's need for Before/After School programs for children of school age.
Y School Age Child Care develops the whole child, including character development. Children participating in the School Age Program will take part in a variety of activities including homework support, art, science & technology and physical play. School Age Child Care is affordable and offers financial assistance for families in need.

Households across our community have different needs so we offer a variety of membership types. Each of our locations offer many different programs, schedules, and classes therefore offerings and fees may vary by branch.
Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. At The Y, no child, family or adult is turned away due to an inability to pay.
Financial assistance awards are assessed on a case by case basis during a one-on-one, confidential session with a staff member. Those interested in applying for our financial assistance program are encouraged to download this form, or stop in to any of our branches to learn more and pick up an application.
