GVY to Close Facilities 12/12/20-1/3/21, Reopening 1/4/21 at 8:00AM
December 10, 2020 at 5:48 PM
At the Greater Valley YMCA, our community’s health and safety is our foremost priority. In the wake of recent government announcements and mandated closures announced by Governor Wolf on December 10, 2020 the Y must temporarily close our facilities. Beginning Saturday, December 12, the following Lehigh and Northampton County Ys will close: Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton/Phillipsburg, Nazareth, Suburban North and Slate Belt through Saturday, January 3, 2021. We will reopen on January 4, 2021 at 8am.
Additionally, we recognize the Y’s key role in providing Child Care options for community members who must continue to work. Accordingly, all Y Branches and the Forks Education Center will continue to operate Early Childhood Education, Preschool Programming and School Age Child Care as long as we may do so safely, responsibly and in line with prevailing public health advisement. Other essential services including our Allentown Warming Station and our free Community Meals Programming will continue to operate for as long as possible. Please continue checking the Y’s social media and website for real-time updates.
We thank you for your continued support of the Y. Thank you for sticking by our side. Because of you, we've been able to feed our neighbors, innovate and connect in new ways and continue to be a resource and partner in health throughout these unprecedented times. We believe our community is stronger when we all work together towards a common goal. Right now, our goal is to keep all those we serve safe and healthy, while continuing to provide essential services as long as we may do so safely, responsibly and in line with prevailing public health advisement.
As the Y will continue to be here for you offering virtual programs and classes, billing will continue. If you would like to connect with us about a membership credit, please contact your home Y Branch between 9am and 5pm, Monday - Friday.

Households across our community have different needs so we offer a variety of membership types. Each of our locations offer many different programs, schedules, and classes therefore offerings and fees may vary by branch.
Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. At The Y, no child, family or adult is turned away due to an inability to pay.
Financial assistance awards are assessed on a case by case basis during a one-on-one, confidential session with a staff member. Those interested in applying for our financial assistance program are encouraged to download this form in English or download this form in Spanish, or stop in to any of our branches to learn more and pick up an application.
