Start Saving Today With Goalsetter
We’ve launched a partnership with the Goalsetter app, to help introduce families to savings, financial literacy and smart spending! This is a free resource tool for all Y community members. Getting started is quick and easy!
Did you know that kids who have savings accounts are six times more likely to go to college and four times more likely to own stocks as young adults? At the same time however, 79% of teens don’t have savings accounts and 87% don’t know how to manage their money. The data shows that it’s truly never too early to start teaching kids about financial literacy and getting them into the habit of saving.
That’s why the Y is partnering with Goalsetter, a free-to-download app that promotes family saving, financial literacy and smart spending. Goalsetter provides participating families with an FDIC-insured bank account and is designed to help kids and young adults of all ages set meaningful financial goals, understand how to build wealth and learn about personal finance through fun, quiz-based games. With Goalsetter you can also:
· Set up automated savings plans to help your kids save for big goals over time, like camp or college
· Set up allowance rules based on chores or other criteria
· Invite friends and family members to give GoalCards® - real money to help kids achieve their financial goals – instead of gift cards for birthdays and holidays
· Set up your teen with the Cashola Debit Card – the only card that requires teens to take (and pass) a weekly financial literacy quiz in order to spend their savings
Download the free Goalsetter app for iOS or Android to set up your family’s account. By using this code, Goalsetter will make a $1 donation to help support our Y’s community impact work. Encourage your friends and family to do the same!

Households across our community have different needs so we offer a variety of membership types. Each of our locations offer many different programs, schedules, and classes therefore offerings and fees may vary by branch.
Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. At The Y, no child, family or adult is turned away due to an inability to pay.
Financial assistance awards are assessed on a case by case basis during a one-on-one, confidential session with a staff member. Those interested in applying for our financial assistance program are encouraged to download this form in English or download this form in Spanish, or stop in to any of our branches to learn more and pick up an application.
