Welcoming Week with the Greater Valley YMCA

Celebrate community with the Greater Valley YMCA during Welcoming Week (week of September 10-19)

Activities are FREE and Open to the Public!

Every Branch of the Greater Valley YMCA is inviting the community to celebrate the power of inclusion by coming together for good! Created by YMCA of the USA’s national partner Welcoming America, Welcoming Week celebrates the growing movement of communities that fully embrace new Americans and their contributions to the social fabric of our country.

This is a chance for neighbors—both immigrants and U.S.-born residents—to get to know one another and celebrate what unites us as a community! We have activities happening every day - check out the current schedule:

More About Welcoming Week with YUSA:

At the Y, we believe that our communities are stronger and more vibrant when everyone feels welcome and can fully contribute their unique talents for the greater good. For more than 176 years, the Y has helped immigrants access the integration support needed to thrive, which contributes to the economic, civic and cultural strength of a community.

Welcoming communities help newcomers better integrate into society and become actively involved in strengthening their community.

Welcoming Week, founded by Welcoming America, is an annual celebration bringing together thousands of people and hundreds of local events that celebrate the contributions of immigrants and refugees and the role communities play to foster greater welcome.

Welcoming America is leading a movement of inclusive communities becoming more prosperous by making everyone who lives there feel like they belong. Welcoming America believes that all people, including immigrants, are valued contributors and vital to the success of both our communities and our shared future. www.welcomingamerica.org.

Financial Assistance

Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. At The Y, no child, family or adult is turned away due to an inability to pay.

Financial assistance awards are assessed on a case by case basis during a one-on-one, confidential session with a staff member. Those interested in applying for our financial assistance program are encouraged to download this form in English or download this form in Spanish, or stop in to any of our branches to learn more and pick up an application.
